- What's the difference between an event and a hackathon?
- An event is a single session — a talk, workshop, meetup or bootcamp. A hackathon is a multi-round competition with team formation, submissions per round, judging and advancement. Hackathons unlock teams, rounds, mentors, judges and prizes.
- How do I create or host an event?
- Go to techskilll.com/create, fill in the title, date, description, cover image and category, then publish. Your event then appears in Discover (unless you mark it private). Hackathon creation is currently admin-assisted.
- How do I register for an event?
- Open the event page and click Register. Some events require organizer approval — you'll show as Pending until the organizer approves you.
- Can an event be private?
- Yes. Private events don't appear in Discover or search; they're only reachable by direct link, so you control who sees them.
- How do teams work in a hackathon?
- If the organizer enabled teams, you create a team or join one with an invite code. Team size limits (min/max) are set by the organizer. Solo participation is supported when teams are off.
- How do submissions and rounds work?
- Each round has a submission deadline. You submit your work (links/files) before the deadline; organizers then advance the top entries to the next round. You can track progress on the event page.
- How are entries judged?
- Organizers assign evaluators and judges who score each submission against the round's criteria. Top-scoring teams advance; the rest are eliminated for that round.
- What are the mentor and judge portals?
- Mentors and judges added by an organizer get a no-login portal via an emailed link, scoped to that one event — so they can give feedback or score without creating a full account.
