1. Welcome
Tech Skilll (operated by The Youth Talks Tech, "we", "us") runs a platform that lets organisers host hackathons, bootcamps, sprints and meetups, and lets participants discover, register for, and submit to those events. By creating an account, registering for an event, or hosting one, you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. Continued use after a future change to these Terms means you accept the change.
2. Who can use Tech Skilll
- You must be 16 or older. Under-18s may participate only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- You must use a real, working email address. Magic-link sign-in goes there.
- You may not use Tech Skilll if you're barred from doing so under any applicable law.
3. Your account
You're responsible for the security of the email inbox you sign in with. Don't share magic links. Don't share scoped scoring URLs (mentor / judge portals) — those URLs are unique to you.
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these Terms, abuses the platform, harasses other members, or attempts to circumvent platform security. Where possible we'll tell you why.
4. Hosting an event
Any registered user can create an event — public or private, free or paid. As an organiser you are responsible for:
- The accuracy of everything you publish (dates, venue, prizes, eligibility, judging criteria).
- Honouring the prizes and rewards you advertise.
- Treating every participant fairly and consistently.
- Complying with applicable laws — including data protection, consumer protection, and tax rules in your country.
- The conduct of teammates you add as moderators, evaluators, mentors or judges.
We are not a party to any contract between an organiser and a participant. Tech Skilll is the platform. Disputes between organisers and participants must be resolved between you.
5. Participating in an event
- You may only register for events you intend to attend or compete in.
- If approval is required, registration isn't guaranteed.
- Submissions must be your own work (or your team's). Don't plagiarise.
- You may not impersonate other people.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload anything illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit.
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited bulk email.
- Probe, scan, or reverse-engineer the platform other than via the public APIs.
- Bypass rate limits, scrape excessively, or build a competing scraper.
- Upload malware, links to malware, or content that exploits security flaws.
- Use Tech Skilll to discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected attribute.
7. Content & intellectual property
You keep ownership of everything you upload — event descriptions, thumbnails, schedules, mentor/judge bios, submissions, FAQs, custom fields, anything else.
You grant Tech Skilll a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, display, format, and serve that content only as needed to operate the platform (showing your event page, sending emails to your participants, generating passes, producing certificates, surfacing search results, etc.). The licence ends when you delete the content (subject to standard backup retention windows).
Tech Skilll's own brand, code, design, copy, logo and gradients are ours. Don't use them to imply endorsement.
8. Fees
Most of Tech Skilll is free. Where an organiser charges a fee for an event, the organiser sets the price and is responsible for refunds and any taxes. Tech Skilll may take a platform fee — that fee will be disclosed to the organiser before activation.
9. Email & communications
By using Tech Skilll you agree to receive operational emails — magic links, registration confirmations, shortlist updates, mentor / judge / evaluator notifications, broadcast emails from organisers of events you registered for. You can stop receiving non-operational marketing emails at any time.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Please read it.
11. Termination
You can stop using Tech Skilll any time. We can terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your activity threatens the safety of other users or the platform.
12. Disclaimer
Tech Skilll is provided "as is". We do our best to keep the platform running, secure, and accurate, but we make no guarantees about uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the platform will be free of bugs.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tech Skilll's total liability to you for any claim related to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or USD 100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Delhi, India.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we'll email you. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept it.
